500 Words 2020

The BBC is looking for fabulous stories of up to 500 Words for its 2020 writing competition for children aged 5-13 years!

The competition will run through to 27th February and it's a special year - the tenth anniversary of the awards.

To enter, write an original story of up to 500 words, and submit it online. It can be about anything you want - space-ships, grannies, insects, boats...

Stories are judged anonymously, and young writers don't need to worry about grammar, punctuation or spelling.

The competition winners will be announced during a broadcast with live music and sensational story-telling during the summer, at a special venue. Past venues have included The Globe and The Tower of London.
